The South River Day Camp program is available to children who live locally or have a cottage in the area and are looking for a day camp program in fun summer camp environment.
Any boy or girl who lives or cottages locally and is looking for an alternative to day care. They also should be excited to experience fun and safe water and land based activities.
South River Day Camp is a recreation program administered by the Village of South River. This program is hosted on the grounds of Hockey Opportunity Camp from Monday to Friday and is open to children ages 5-12 years old. The program operates for 8 weeks during July and August.
FREE transportation is provided along a designated route to and from camp, with various pickup/drop-off locations located in South River and Sundridge. The bus arrives at camp at 8:45 am and departs at 3:45 pm. Campers must bring their own bag lunch each day.
Campers are provided with the opportunity to participate in a variety of exciting age-appropriate camp activities, led by our qualified Day Camp instructors. Swimming is offered daily as part of the Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Program. Children can achieve their badge levels in a safe and fun environment from qualified instructors.

Water Ski Specialty Week (Only Offered Weeks 1, 5, 7): Campers will have the chance to participate in 1 hour of waterskiing daily, with instruction from our certified Water Ski Instructors. Campers can choose from water skiing, kneeboarding, wakeboarding, slalom skiing and tubing on Fridays. All skill levels are welcome to participate in this exciting water sport.
Outdoor Survival Specialty Week (Only Offered Weeks 2 and 6): Campers will have the chance to learn how to be a true outdoorsperson in this week-long Outdoor Survival Program. Weekly activities include shelter building, primitive fire building, orienteering & compass use, canoeing, fishing, and nature identification. The week's highlight is an Overnight Camping Experience, in a large canvas tent on the camp's forested property. Campers will need to pack additional overnight supplies for that day. Dinner, campfire snacks, breakfast and lunch are included in this program.
