HOC utilizes its wonderful northern Ontario setting (only 2.5 hrs from Toronto) to offer a number of camp programs, which include the choice of a variety of land and water activities. When campers choose activities, they may consider using this time at camp to try an activity they have never done before or learn a new skill within a familiar activity.
With either endeavor, the true essence of HOC is to challenge individual campers within this programming so they leave camp with a sense of accomplishment and new skills.
Our main program here at HOC combines both “Best In Class” hockey development with two daily chosen land or water-based activities. Campers enjoy the summer camp experience while developing their hockey skills. Click here to learn more about our NEW Hockey Program and specifics about our Hockey Training.
We also provide a Resident Camp Only program that does not include hockey instruction. This provides an opportunity for family members or friends with different interests to attend the same camp. The Camp Only program offers campers in our four younger sections (approx. age 7-12 years) their own exclusive water ski class each day plus their choice of four additional daily camp activities. Campers in our older three sections (approx. age 13-16 years) have a choice of two daily camp activities, plus an additional time period of general programming offering different activities each day (choices include water skiing, sailing, archery, mountain biking and kayaking). Camp Only is a great option for the non-hockey player or for the camper who is looking for just the summer camp experience. Campers can combine the Camp Only Program with any number of Hockey or Water Ski program weeks. Campers in the Camp Only Program can bunk with any friends attending the same week, providing they are within one grade or birth year, regardless of which program the friends are in.
In an effort to keep up with the demand of Water Skiing/Wakeboarding here at HOC, our specialized Residential Water Ski Program is being offered weeks 1, 2, 4, 5, 8. Campers who do not choose to play hockey, can sign up for this limited space program and spend 3 hours each day on the water as well as participate in other chosen camp activities. This program will allow participants to receive advanced level instruction in all towed water sport disciplines and allow for additional on-water training time. Campers can continue to work toward their award levels in Water Ski Wakeboard Canada’s Rip ‘n Ride program. Campers can combine the Water Ski Program with any number of Hockey or Camp Only program weeks. Campers in the Water Ski program can bunk with any friends attending the same week, providing they are within one grade or birth year, regardless of which program the friends are in.
These non-residential programs are offered to local campers who do not require overnight accommodations but would still like to enjoy the benefits of hockey training and camp. The Ice Only Program offers the same hockey program instruction and ice time as the resident program. The Ice Only and Camp Program combines the same hockey program instruction and ice time as resident program with two camp activities daily. Campers are responsible for transportation to/from the arena and/or camp.
Instructional activity sessions are skill based, age appropriate and fun. Experienced and certified instructors teach each camper a series of skill progressions throughout their time at camp. This enables campers to work through one of three levels within each activity: Bronze, Silver, Gold.
Activities include water skiing, mountain biking, sailing, archery, canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling, boardsailing and much more. Browse the activities section of our site to see the full details on all the great activities we offer.
